The starter section is 20" long and takes the chimney from 12" to 8"ID so that you can complete the run with the IHP standard 8-DM Chimney System. Please note the following:
If it is necessary to offset directly from the flue collar, you will need to order and use the new offset/return kit along with the starter section provided with the fireplace. This kit includes a 12" 30-degree offset elbow and an 8" return elbow, which will have the starter section installed between the offset and return elbows to complete the offset.
