All ALTERNA Vent Free sets are certified to two standards: ANSI Z21.11.2 (Unvented Room Heaters) and ANSI Z21.60 (Vented Decorative Appliance) for use in wood-burning fireplaces or approved vent-free firebox enclosures. They may be used with the damper open, closed or anyplace in between.

The wedge-shaped chassis of the high-efficiency burner system and the firebox floor are covered with the special glass (FireGlitter) or beads (FireDrops) to create an alluring presentation. For the minimalist, the chassis/burner alone may be used for a pure flame effect.

Available with FireDrops Glass Beads or FireGlitter Broken Glass Media

Control Features:
“EASY” Manual Control designs are upgradeable to remote an on / off or variable flame remote system.
Millivolt Remote Ready – can be used with wired wall switch, timer or thermostat; remote ON/OFF control; or home automation system (none included).
Electronic Ignition System – no standing pilot. Variable flame height remote control with thermostat feature in the hand-held transmitter.
