All ALTERNA Vent Free sets are certified to two standards: ANSI Z21.11.2 (Unvented Room Heaters) and ANSI Z21.60 (Vented Decorative Appliance) for use in wood-burning fireplaces or approved vent-free firebox enclosures. They may be used with the damper open, closed or anyplace in between.

Single-sided sets provide three tiers of 4” diameter FireBallsTM with the flame rising between the second and third rows. The flame of the See-Thru sets emanates from the middle of the four tiers (two on each side).

FireBalls™ are made from the same high-heat resistant ceramic-bonded refractory material we use in the making of our gas logs. FireBalls sets are available in Natural Color (tannish gray, the base material color) and seven ceramic stain colors made from Rasmussen’s proprietary formulation, including White, Black, Dark Gray, Light Gray, Beige, Brown and Adobe Red

Control Features:
“EASY” Manual Control designs are upgradeable to remote an on / off or variable flame remote system.
Millivolt Remote Ready – can be used with wired wall switch, timer or thermostat; remote ON/OFF control; or home automation system (none included).
Electronic Ignition System – no standing pilot. Variable flame height remote control with thermostat feature in the hand-held transmitter.
